Want to send your pilot a little extra? The Give Bonus feature lets you do exactly that. You can send your pilot any amount, at any time, without changing the original invoice or bid. This guide shows you how it works.
What the “Give Bonus” feature is
Give Bonus lets you send money to your pilot on top of the job's agreed price. You choose the amount and when to send it. There's no need to edit the invoice.
Why use it? Three common reasons
● A tip. Your pilot did great work and you want to say thanks.
● Additional or unexpected work. The scope changed. Maybe the shoot ran a few extra hours or you asked the pilot to capture a second parcel. Agree on a price, then send it as a bonus instead of reworking the invoice.
● Expense reimbursement. Your pilot covered a cost on your behalf, like picking up and placing a "For Sale" sign on a property. Reimburse them for their time and the expense in one bonus.
How to access Give Bonus
There are two ways to start a bonus. Both open the same window.
Option 1: From the My Jobs page
Log in to your Droners.io dashboard and go to My Jobs.
Open the job with the pilot you want to pay.
Click Give Bonus.
Option 2: From the Chat with Pilot screen
Open the job and click Chat with Pilot.
Click Give Bonus inside the chat.
On completed jobs, the Give Bonus button moves to the top.
How to fill in the bonus
Once the bonus window opens, you'll add two things.
Enter the amount. Type the dollar figure you want to send.
Add a description. Note what the bonus is for.
Click Next, then confirm to send it.
When your card gets charged
Here's the one key difference to know. A bonus is charged to your card on file immediately when you click Give Bonus.
Regular job invoices work differently. When a pilot marks a job complete, you get a 2-day window to review the footage before payment runs. A bonus has no review window, because you're the one choosing to send it.
Bonus limits
The rules are simple, and there aren't many.
● Minimum: $10 per bonus.
● Maximum: $5,000 per bonus.
● Number of bonuses: No limit. Send as many as you need.
How bonuses show up
Every bonus is easy to track after you send it.
● In your invoices: Open the Invoices section for the job. Each bonus appears as its own invoice, marked as a bonus, with your description and the total.
● In your email: You'll get an email with the invoice each time you send a bonus.
Giving a bonus on multi-pilot jobs
Multi-pilot jobs work too, with one small thing to know about which pilot gets paid.
● From the My Jobs page: You'll see every pilot you've hired on that job. Pick any one of them and send the bonus.
● From the Chat with Pilot screen: You can only send a bonus to the pilot you're chatting with in that thread.
