You finished the job, delivered the files and now you're wondering when the money lands.
Payment on Droners.io follows a clear path from job completion to payout. Once you know the steps, you'll always know where your money is.
Here's how it works.
Step 1: Mark the job complete
Payment starts when you mark the job as complete.
Once you've delivered the footage and you're confident the work meets the brief:
Open the job page.
Click Mark as Complete.
Confirm the deliverables are uploaded and correct.
That single action tells the client the work is ready for review and starts the payment timeline.
Step 2: The client reviews your work
After you mark the job complete, the client gets a short window to review before payment processes.
2-day review window. The client has two days to look over the footage and confirm it meets the brief.
Optional 2-day extension. If they need more time, they can push the window by an extra two days.
An extension usually means the client wants a small fix or just needs a bit longer to review. Stay responsive during this window because most reviews close without a hitch.
Step 3: Funds are released
Once the review window closes, payment processes automatically. You don't need to chase it. Payment processes as soon as clients approve. If the client doesn't act, payment processes automatically when the window ends.
From there, the funds move to your chosen payout method. That's why setting up payouts before your first job matters.
Step 4: Set up your payout method
Before you can get paid, you need a payout method on file. Set this up early so nothing holds up your first payment.
Go to your account settings.
Open the Payments or Payouts section.
Connect your bank account or preferred payout option.
Save your details.
Step 5: What to do if payment is delayed
Most payments arrive on schedule. If yours seems stuck, work through these before you worry.
Check the review window: The client may still be within their two days or the extension.
Confirm your payout details: A missing or incorrect account is the usual culprit.
Look for a client message: They may have a question or a small fix request holding things up.
